I’ve been having issues downloading some music from the iTunes Music Store (iTMS). It seems that, after a little research on the problem, that many, many other iTMS customers are having the same issue.
Here’s what happens: I go into iTMS, and search on a particular CD. In this case, I’m searching for Mark Snow, “The Truth and The Light - Music from The X-Files.”
Once I click on the “Buy Album” button, I get a popup with this response: “Purchase of this item is not currently available. This item is being modified. Please try again later.”
I wrote Apple looking for support. All I get back is the usual sunshine up the ass response of, “oh, your business and happiness is very important to us…”
The last response said to wait 96 hours for the fix, and then try downloading again. Think it worked? Guess again. I’ve been trying to buy this same CD for over 6 weeks now, and Apple still hasn’t fixed the problem.
Tonight, I wrote this letter to iTMS, which I will graciously share with you (by the way, I used the suggestions/feedback form which asks for your requests):
Mark Snow - The Truth and The Light.
Before you check on this, please understand that it shows up in iTMS; the problem is that you can only download all 20 individual tracks at $.99 each — you cannot purchase the entire album for the quoted $11.94US!
I have an existing issue number, 13797084, where your service folks have done nothing but blow a bunch of sunshine up my ass — and not fixed the problem! And, when I go to the user’s forum and search for this issue, I find 34 pages on this issue (at 15 results per page!) in the last 30 days alone!
I’m not the only one having this issue, and I don’t appreciate the blow-off answers! I’ve asked to have this issue escalated to a manager or supervisor, but to no avail. This kind of customer service is intolerable!
Maybe if this issue goes extremely public, then we iTunes/iPod users will get some resolution!
