When I used to get stuck in traffic on 90 right by the CPP building, I would just stare at those stupid wales trying to imagine the meeting(s) where it was decided to paint those.

One thing you didn't mention is cost of living. My one bedroom apartment looks like a palace compared to some of the dumps my friends have rented in New York and Chicago, for about 400% of the cost (and on roughly the same salary).

You know... We get so lost here trying to identify ourselves. It's such a waste of time and effort. Why can't we just enjoy ourselves and our fair city for what it is?

We don't have the headaches of places like New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, or Washington D.C. -- especially when it comes to traffic. With the exception of this morning, when some dolt plowed his car and another into the wall by East 55th -- stacking up traffic all the way out to the Euclid spur and making my 30-minute ride into work a 90-minute inch-by-inch ordeal -- we generally don't have major traffic issues.

There are some great jobs here, and some great companies to boot. Why does everyone have to be so down on Cleveland? I just don't get it -- unless it's a way to show your *real* attitude about work and life...

You know, the more we gripe and beef about what we don't have, the worse it gets. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy by the strictest definition.

And do you really want to know the scariest part? The folks in the East Coast cities, frankly, don't give a damn about Cleveland.

"Cleveland: you need to get a hold of yourself, shake yourself a little, and realize that you have a lot of things to offer. Quit trying to play with things, as you’ll only screw yourself; quit trying to play yourself into something you’re not: you’ll only screw yourself deeper into the hole we’re already familiar with.

A-freakin'-MEN. Preach it!
